Foundry
This became a separate business when the Murray Group acquired P&C at the end of 2007 and is run by Director Stuart Duffy and his team.
Since 1862 William Lane has been supplying castings to a wide cross section of Industry.
Whilst many volume Foundries have struggled to cope with competition from emerging economies such as China and gone out of business, William Lane has stuck to it’s core competence of providing bespoke castings on a short leadtime basis in any quantity from one upwards. Fundamentally, the Foundry’s Products are ‘hand made’ by their very experienced tradesmen, who work closely with customers to solve their engineering problems. That is not to say that there has been no investment in the Company; 2 new electric induction Furnaces have been bought, and new craneage, shotblasting and sand mixing equipment installed. These have all improved the efficiency of the business.
Our furnaces have a capacity of up to 300kg, in a variety of metals namely:
Brasses, Bronzes, Aluminium, Gunmetal, Iron, Copper
Our customers range from Architectural Blacksmiths for intricate Ironwork and renovational applications to Pump manufacturers requiring Impellers.
Being a small ‘jobbing’ Foundry, you are assured of a quick and reliable leadtime. Casting from certified Ingots means that you are assured of the best quality product for your application.
